i just looked at a 16v mk2 and it was all pretty sweet except the engine is running rough. Ie won't idle when cold.
whats the worst case senario here?
it seems fine once warm, but i'm a little worried about how much it could sting me.

Common problem mate and not a biggie. May simply need the idle controll valve cleaning and the idle or co2 reset. BUY IT!

or the old temperature sensor is kaput: £13 from VAG
