Over running question

I have put this in this section as it applies to all vehicles. Mr sister has a 1.8 Auto Clipper non injection. Everytime it is driven and turn the engin off it over runs, even with the key out. I can stop this by pushing the accelarator and it ends it.

What does this mean and what needs to be changed as it is baffeling me??

i have this problem with my scirocco aswell (carb) i had a carb tune today and it seems to have done the trick i think its just overfueling so the air fuel mix needs fettling with, should cost around £40 at the most.

my old 205 on webbers did that, just a case of left over fule burning off. the other thing it did was wait a minuit or so after you shut it off the it would pop a big flame. random
