Want to sell my rivage....
« on: 21 January 2006, 14:34 »
Hi

How much should I be able to sell my rivage for? Has 75000 on clock and 10 months MOT. Good condition. Blue on a J plate.

Is it best to wait for the summer?  :undecided:

....and here I am !  :nerd: :nerd:

I've been thinking about this and if you want my opinion I think that £3250 is way too cheap but it depends how quickly you want to sell as it will sell straight away at that price with someone getting themselves a real bargain. Yours has ridiculously low miles (I bought mine three years ago with 91k on it) and I'll assume it has a lot of history with it. The Rivage was arguably the nicest cab that VW did as standard and are very desirable to people that know what they are. If it was mine I'd probably put it up for 4k and see how I went from there, I'm not saying you'll deffo get that much, but it's a starting point. When I was looking for one I wanted leather interior and maybe yours has that against it.

I guess it's down to how much someone will pay for something but I'd pay 3.5 - 4k for yours if I was after one and it was as standard and as good as it looks in the pic. I always look out on ebay and autotrader to see what they go for and they can go for between 2.5 - 4k in blue (the one jv mentioned at 5k was green btw). If in no rush to sell then put it up for sale around March/April when the weather is getting warmer for around 4k, if you're in no rush then you could hold on for around that price or drop it a £100 here and there until it sells.

The car looks to be worth at least £3,500 all day long though and I wouldn't let it go for less than that. If you need anymore info then let me know.

back up what Gibby is saying - if someone wants a top quality cab these days - not matter what spec - late models are worth easy 3000-5000 - I would say on the details given so far, I would pay around 3.5-4k - its becoming hard to find standard quality cabs on late plates these days (and there is me modding a late 92 cab....!)
