16v oil temperature
« on: 15 January 2006, 13:49 »
Just picked up a run out edition 16v. Had thankfully uneventful drive home but oil temp was reading a constant 106-108 (motorway 70-80mph, 1 hour) and occasionally got up to 112 if I gave it some stick. Is this normal as my mk3 (which is still for sale - see cars for sale section!) never got over 104?

Cheers

Hi.Th temps u indicated are quite normal.Mine is around 112 in hot tropical weather. So long as it doesn't pass 120-124,them alright.

Tip,change the water pump,it worked on mine.Use also the right type of engine oil.

Regards
