Are you not able to get the other door too, as I only think the sell the kits as a pair - and for a decent kit you will be paying ?130 at least. It might work out as cheap to get the other one and spray it, especially when the fiting of the mechanism is not an easy job - I speak from experience - 7 hours to do my drivers door, 3 hours to do the passenger once I knew what I was doing.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture

there are some mk1 cabs with electric windows as standard - later ones in particular, I think the clipper had them.

yes, indeed, thats how come i've got one door with an electric window to replace my knackered door that hasn't. trouble is they're a bit thin on the ground hence my question about compatibility with other mechanisms!

any one got a spare drivers door electric window mechanism?

I think you'll find the mechanism is completely different to other models because of the cabrio having pillarless doors............hope for your sake I'm wrong.  :-\

not too much of a problem, i'll just have to transfer my manual window regulator mechanism over from the old door. The cars metalic brown and the doors white so it'll take some time to build up enough layers of holts duplicolor any way!X$?%
