yep they go strait on, all you need is a mounting set, if you didnt get them with the set then you can buy them from vwspares of gsf... most places really, the whole kit consists of 2 mounting strips and 10 clips(cost me somewhere between 60-70 quid), all these parts have sticky pads included , the clips attach to the strips and the skirts and then you heat the surface and pads and stick them onto the surface, ensure you line it up nicely first , then screw the skirts to the arches for extra support, if you allready have the strips and clips then all you need to so is get some double sided sticky pads, a brand called "no more nails" is the best i found, easy really, im crap at stuff like that and i managed it ok :) good luck mate, its a good addition, itll look well worth it

Sorry to hijack slightly but Haribo where did you get the double sided sticky pads, I need some for my 90 spec side trim on the first small bit that joins to the front arch (my car is archless and so the front of the trim slants down as only clipped on 1 side)

I have done this not 15 minutes ago  I tried to get the strips off the donor car, but they snapped as they were stuck fast! So, i just glued the little bracket things on with gripfill, and taped them up! I now have various stones and clamps holding them on while they dry off  They look sweet

Also, its an 88spec 1.3 so, will no doubt fit yours  I'll post pics soon, look out for them

60-70 QUID FOR CLIPS???

yeah f i remember it was £2.50 per clip so 10 of those was 25 quid, and the strips were £10 each i think, so 45 plus postage a VAT , i felt abit ripped off but if you dont attach them properly they might fall off,one of mine fell off cause i didnt heat the sticky pads enuf, had to do that again  fine now,

i got "no more nails" from my local DIY shop in town i have no idea where els you can get it, maybe focus or B&Q but i havent looked? its bloody good stuff tho, thay do similar stuff in halfords anyway, not as good and they didnt have any when i wanted some but theyll do the job

the strips will fit any mk2 golf 3 door, 5 door, 90 spec, not 90 spec,

have you got the big bumpers to go with the kit too?????

I gripfilled my arches on, then when i smashed my car up it ripped the arch off and the paint with it!!! Gripfill and no-more nails is dangerous stuff!!!
I now used Windscreen sealant to stick on arches and sideskirts and also a few screws.
