eh? is it a big bumpered version? i'm not sure what your asking about side skirts if you want to rermove the arches?

if you don't want the plastic arches you may well find a bunch or crappy paint and rust underneath the plastic, if you've got a big bumpered golf, then if you remove the arches you'll have to remove the side skirts too.

depends... looks simpler but it depends if thats the look your after? but like i say most arches are a bit rusty and the paint wont be great, so might need a bit of touching up... have a look through some of the old show reports for pics of no-arches. does look good, bit more old school...... if you want to keep the big bumpers you can get arch spats which fill the gap between metal arch and big bumper..

I'm currently in the process of doing this to my car this weekend possibly, just waiting for the spats to be located for the rear arches and then my arches come off and the 90 spec side trims go on
Buit first as Joe says I need to find what nastiness may be waiting for me under the plastic arches

Well all my arches came off today and it looks fookin brilliant
Found 3 rust spots around the holes for the rivets but overall look very good. Have decided to see a local body shop in the new year to see if they can weld up the holes and get rid of the rust spots and paint the arches, hoping for £200 maximum.

I put the 90 spec side strips on and it looks fantastic, just got the rear arch CL/GL spats to go on when I get hold of them
