six speed box replacement

chance to get me sticky mitts on a six speeder out of a 52 plate gti turbine.

question - will it couple up to my 99 1.8 gti non turbo??

if so what effect will it have???

Is the five speed box out of a non turbo the same as the five speed box out of a turbo?

Only a guess but using a gearbox designed for use in an engine with completey different characteristics (torque etc) might have more of a negative effect than a positive one.  I would imagine that engines and gearboxes are closely tuned to specifically work with each other.

Just a thought.
