Radiator options
« on: 29 December 2025, 12:35 »
Hi,
I'm looking for a replacement radiator. Yr2000 aum 1.8t that's had a map. Various part numbers flying around and discovered a potential thicker/deeper offering. The thicker factory one appears to be from vehicles on the platform with higher power output.
Can anyone please confirm compatible part numbers?
Thanks !

After some serious internet bashing I've got part numbers/fitment info.
650x414x23 is standard size with part numbers 1J0121253AC, AD etc

Thicker 34mm core as fitted on higher output/capacity golf/Leon/TT etc is 1J0121253S, or Nissens 65011

Bottled it and went standard
Nissens NISSENSRADAA014992
Managed to get it replaced in around 3 hrs. Did it static, not from underneath, stripped the front back and got the radiator pack off/on OK. Needed another pair of hands to support the Aircon rad and tied that up to remaining bodywork.
Noted leak at nearside bottom corner on the old one.
All reconnected and run up to temperature OK. So far so good.
