Parking Brake Error
« on: 24 April 2025, 09:50 »
Took car (mk8 CS) in Tuesday for new rear pads, and then Wednesday started getting a 'Error: electronic parking brake warning'. Didn't happen when I first collected it, but did it 5 out of 6 times when entering and exiting the car yesterday.  Car is going back into the garage (non main dealer) tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences? I think the mk8 doesn't have a separate parking brake caliper so could it just be the pads they used?

Is your parking brake quiet, or sometimes louder / noisy when this happens?
Prior - MK2 GTi Big Bumper in White
Current - MK8 GTi Clubsport in Moonstone Grey
(Plus Many other non-Golf hot-hatches in-between!)

Would say they didn't do the rear calipers release to change position correctly.

Needs obdeleven or vagcom to change rear pads and re calibrate i think.
