I wonder as well, if you're looking for a 3-door, it might be one of the safer purchases you can make if it comes with the two year warranty

A GTI from an era when everything just seemed to work as it should and all the driver needed to do was get in and drive :smiley:. No nannying driver aids or potentially troublesome software to contend with either.

I often thought it strange that VW supplied a bottle opener as the divider between the two cupholders in the centre console (I seem to remember the mk6 had one too); did VW encourage drinking alcohol consumption in the car in the noughties? :shocked:

Hopefully the dealer will re-fit the rear wiper before sale; I’ve never understood the appeal of removing something designed to aid rearward visibility, but then I’m old and grumpy……….. :angry:
2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

MOT record is pretty good, just things that would need replacing on a low mileage 19 year old car, looks a clean example in the pictures.

There must be something in the water, just seen an 8000 mile MK5 on Autotrader, if anyone is looking for a "brand new" one, its £20,000

It is a really lovely example :cool:.

Is it the world’s lowest mileage mk5 GTI though as the seller claims it to be? I dare say VW will have a factory fresh one tucked away somewhere with just a handful of miles on the clock. Seller also says it’s got every option but the headlamps look very much like halogens to me;

GTI with xenon’s;

GTI with halogen headlamps - like the headlamps in the pictures in the AutoTrader advert at the link above;
