Mk8 software version poll

My Mk8 GTI performed an OTA update last week from 1969 to 1984 and, in doing so, it deleted my Alexa and Shop Apps. I'm now engaged in the traditional VW merry go round, of trying to reinstate them both. Has anyone got any ideas how to do this?

I have received 3 separate notifications on my screen, encouraging me to install Alexa from the Shop setting but,  when I go there, I get a message on screen saying that I cannot do this because I am using an out of date version of Shop. The solution it suggests is that I should update my Shop software, by opening Notifications.

So, I cannot pass Go, I just go round in circles, and I can see absolutely nothing in Notifications, which allows me to update the Shop software!

Am I missing something?

You were very fortunate, Fred.

I installed the 1984 System Update on mine on Saturday morning and the Shop Update only came through this afternoon (Weds).  Over the intervening period, the Alexa notification prompt appeared on screen 7 or 8 times but failed to install because my Shop software was deemed obsolete.

But, I am pleased to say I have now managed to load it and all is working well. It is yet another example, though, of VW's cranky Mk8 software.
