Adblue message
« on: 20 September 2024, 20:05 »
Hi all,
Sorry this post is about a diesel, but there's no separate diesel forum !

Question about Adblue warning message ....

I've had my Mk8 GTD for about 16 months now  (great car incidentally, great shame VW have canned it ...).

For the last few weeks , I've had a message, when I turn on the ignition, to refill the Adblue tank. It gives a remaining range, and a suggested fill quantity.
Today, when the range was down to 900 miles, I decided to top up the Adblue - I added 10 litres - the suggested fill quantity was between 6 and 11 litres.

I would therefore have expected the Adblue refill warning to disappear, but it hasn't. The car has obviously registered that I have added the Adblue, because the remaining range is now 11500 miles !!

It's a bit of a pain as it always now comes up with the warning when you turn on the ignition, and it also shows a problem in the vehicle status menu.

Anyone else seen this  -  and any ideas on how to stop the message from being displayed ....?

Thanks

If you Google for vw adblue reset you'll see it's common across various vw models and there are some suggested fixes
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC
