GTI 7.5 Flat spot

Hi All,
Recently my 2017 GTI Mk 7.5 (manual gearbox) has started to occasionally get a flat spot, at different speeds, where if I put my foot down nothing happens.. If I drop a gear it takes off again but if I put in clutch the engine dies and sometimes restarts on its own or ‘start engine manually’ comes up on the dash..
Any ideas..?

Ideally you need to get it scanned with VCDS, or an alternative diagnistic tool, which would flag up any fault codes if there's any stored in the ECU.
