Potential Leak

Hello everyone, newcomer here in need of some advice. I want to buy a MK7 GTI, and when i was looking around one I spotted this wet patch behind the radiator fan. Would you say that looks like a potential leak from the water pump or just some AC condensation? The rest of the visible engine bay was dry. The car was run for a few minutes beforehand.

Water pump is more towards the middle of the engine. Does it smell like coolant when you sniff around the engine bay? If it is leaking you will see white residue on the oil pan like in the pic below.

No, nothing smells of coolant, and at least what could be seen from the top of the engine bay is clean. I haven't had the chance to look on the oil pan yet.

UPDATE: It seems to be oil, and its going further down the plastic cover. What could that be?

That could be something as simple as a couple of drips of oil been spilt when the oil filters been changed as the filter is above the alternator??
