Just to be sure: is it normal that those functions don't work anymore (even on the discover pro)?

Both Discover media (used to at least) & Discover pro include gesture control, it’s crap though, and very limited in its function, it’s quicker and easier to use the screen controls,  Only Discover Pro includes voice control as standard, you can spec it for an extra £225 with Dicover media.
I’m still non the wiser as to why anybody would spec Disover pro as I can’t understand where the extra £1245 goes to be honest!
Are you perhaps confusing Discover Pro with Digital Cockpit Pro? (10.25" high resolution dash display screen) Which all performance Golfs in the UK have as standard.

I have the Discover Pro. It’s a 400 euro option. It says it has voice command, but when I press the button on the steering wheel it says something like ‘this is not available’…

Both came standard on my 2022 Clubsport here in Ireland, definitely would not pay extra to have them, never use them.
