Mk8 clock weirdness
« on: 26 July 2022, 19:38 »
Has anyone else had their clock randomly reset to an inexplicable time before?
Apologies if it’s been discussed before.

I’ll set the scene.
Car used early Saturday morning briefly.
Parked up, locked. Clock was showing the correct time.
Car next unlocked and washed on Sunday morning. Didn’t look at the time display.
Finally remembered to lock it early evening on the Sunday.
Car next unlocked and used around Monday lunchtime. At that point I noticed it said 16:51 on the clock, it was actually somewhere around midday.
Odd!
I drove for half an hour, parked up, locked it.
Came back to the car after an hour or so, drove 15 mins, parked up, locked. Time was still showing around four to five hours in front of where it actually should.
Came back to the car around an hour later, unlocked, time still on four to five hours in front.
I had wondered if at some point in the day it would revert to “real” time.
At that point I reset the time manually and it still seems ok a day later.

Sorry, all a bit boring but weird nonetheless.

Had it happen in my Polo GTI+ last year. The clock changed to some random time and the trip recorder also re-set itself to zero at the same time.

I re-set the clock to the correct time and it’s been fine since. Not happened again (yet!).
