Sequential turn signals in mirror
« on: 04 March 2022, 12:49 »
As in the title I am considering fitting these to my 2019 mk7.5 but am not clear if there was a change in the shape of lthe mirrors/lights between 2017 and 2019 as not clear from my Internet searches. Anyone have this info please. Presumably the part number would change if this was the case? Many thanks.

I've just fitted some 'clear' dynamic turn signals to my 68' 7.5R (that way you can then see the little rectangle orange marker when using them from inside the car, the tinted variety dulls down the light and you can't see it in the day) - I can confirm that they fit perfectly so I doubt very much that there have been any changes.

I used a few YouTube vids to help and one of them suggested unclipping the mirror housing by removing the two screws (of the same type used on the indicator housing) and popping out a push fit clip by squeezing it / pushing it, in my opinion this makes access for removal and refitting much easier. Get magnetic bit holders (T10?) so you don't drop any of screws down, if you do, they can be retrieved but this way save you the hassle of getting a mirror and a magnet later.

Thanks Imteyaz. I was wondering if the puddle lights were perhaps the problem with some sites saying not 19 or 20 plate cars?

I purchased a set of brand new genuine ‘dynablink’ wing mirror indicators for my 19 plate-the smoked version.
They wouldn’t work correctly, this was something to do with a change of module after 2018,they fit fine, just flashed out of sync-it did mention on the box that they were only suitable up to 2018,but like an idiot I thought that was an error and wasted £150.
Ended up buying the ‘osram’ version, which worked perfectly.

Thanks for the info and advice. Sorry for your mistake. The change in module makes sense and think I will go for the osram version since it works although a bit more expensive than some of the others.

It’s possible… I read that the replacement indicators need three pins for the puddle lights and mine came with three pins and work as intended. No “out of sequence” lights but then it is a 68’ plate. I’m sure someone with a later car year will be along soon and advise with their experience. For anyone wanting the same as what I bought, they can be found here:

Dynamic Bright LED Turn Signal Crystal for VW Golf MK7 GTI 7 7.5R

I paid just under £13 delivered so
It was worth a punt, they fit and work perfectly.

Yes thanks, saw those on aliexpress and the advert said 3 pins. Still debating what to go for. Are the small in mirror indicators bright enough in daylight? The osram lights are the same as sold by vw oem apparently.

Even with my poor eyesight, I can see them in the daytime, naturally they are even more noticeable when dark. I took a punt at that price and have no complaints, I’m going to get some for the other half’s Golf 7 Bluemotion too as it’s one of the only mods she noticed and liked on my car.

Think I will give it a try. As you say £13 is worth a go compared to nearly £80 for the osram. Thanks for your helpful comments.
