Golf GTi Mk7.5 TCR - My South African Experience
« on: 28 November 2020, 19:21 »
Greetings
Before getting my TCR about 3 weeks ago I did some reading on this site which provided guidance and insight which
aided me in the decision making process - many thanks for an informative forum.  I thought I would add my South African experience in the form of a brief photo story.  The TCRs were introduced to South Africa in July/August 2020 - bit late to the party I know.  They were introduced as a limited run of 300 vehicles only, all identically specced with the only choice being colour if you were that lucky to actually be able to choose.  We got them in pure grey, oryx white and tornado red. All were 5 door DSG with honeycomb door decals, 19 inch Reifnitz alloys with DCC, Vmax increase and panoramic sunroofs etc.

Sadly of the initial 300, we have 298 remaining. This is one of them that infamously met its end very early in its life.
It still has a temporary registration, and was not even registered yet.  Occupants thankfully only had minor injuries.

On a brighter note, mine fresh from the detailer.
Number 23 of 300.

To end off, all owners were sent the following from VWSA

Ownership certificate, numbered keyring and a cap.

Here is another TCR that was wrapped by a local company

Thanks for reading - hope you enjoyed my photo story.

Interesting! Thanks for that!

I quite like that wrap I have to say.... and normally I'm not into such things.

Your TCR looks lovely. Does it turn heads down there?

I second Fred's comments. That red wrap does look pretty good, apart from the black door handles 👌
