Finally Can Join The Club!
« on: 21 June 2020, 12:47 »
Morning all

Finally gone and done it! Pulled the trigger on a 2018 PP 5 door, Indium Grey. Weird buying experience in these crazy Corona times (no salesman on test drive which is nice, but having to have dash cam which is understandable, plastic shields and antibac aneverywhere....). Hopefully collect Wednesday (when I'll add pictures), so a damn faster than my last car, new BMW 340i that was a 3 month wait

Yup! Many reasons. 340 was on PCP, and I’m fed up playing that “game”. Whilst it was a lovely machine and a stonking straight 6, it just didn’t do it for me.  I wanted something smaller and a far more engaging drive, that in 2 years time is all bought and paid for and mine rather than BMW Finance UK.

I had a Mk5 about 15 years ago, and have wanted to get back in those tartan seats ever since

Thanks Exonian. £400 saving on road tax straight away! I just want something smaller too, both kids now in their own cars, so very unlikely ever to need a “family car” for 4 again. Loved my Mk5 and M135i, so am 100% I’m a hot hatch kinda guy

Ahh....all good reasons !  I was only interested because I had one of the last 325i's.. It had the beautiful silk smooth straight six motor. I always fancied the 340i but when it was time to change it ended up going down the VAG route, although our GTi tends to be used more by her than me....
