Dealer service again
« on: 17 February 2020, 17:48 »
So took my car in Friday to point out 2 points needing fixing before the warranty runs out, first is a line of dead pixels down the screen, and the other was the stop start button not always working, so guy comes out looks at car and says yep can see the screen and sometimes the button goes faulty and he’s seen it a couple of times before, ok I says, but I’ve come over so you can check it and get the parts ready or check availability before you book me in as I don’t want to lose my car for two days and you then say you haven’t got the parts, so the guy say someone will check and phone me in about a hour to arrange a booking,
So 3 ish hours later I get a phone call asking can I drop it off this morning, ok
So drop it off this morning and both receptionists haven’t got me on the books but told me to wait, for comes over and we go sit at her table I gave her the key and ask her to make sure they don’t scratch the leather steering wheel like after the service I had there, she said she’d write it down, then we went through what was wrong with the car to make sure she had the correct details, and I leave and get a cab home,
Now about 4.30 I get a call, guess what, they say the screen is on back order from VW, to which I say remember the reason I came down on Friday is so you could check to see if you could get the parts without wasting my time? Did you totally ignore me? Then she gave me some bullsh!t excuse that made me even more annoyed, anyhow then she tells me that they couldn’t find anything wrong with the stop start, to which I explained there’s nothing wrong with the stop start as it was the start button!!! She then says oh we’ll look at that in the morning, then asked me if I wanted to pick my car up now!!! At this point I gave up and put the phone down
So two days without my car for nothing,
Really, where do they find these people?

I can beat that hands down, my Peugeot boxer went into the dealership on their request for a brake line recall, went to pick it up in the afternoon to find the new pipes dont fit and the old ones have been destroyed, that was just over 7 weeks ago and they ( dealership and Peugeot) can not tell me when it will be fixed, its currently in the dealerships compound.

I am sick to death of phoning both Peugeot and the dealership as there is no progress at all.

So looks like I have a new rattle  can anyone tell me if you open the box in the centre console in front of the gear lever does the bit of trim around the start button easily pop off near to the chrome gear surround? Or have they broke my car?

Bad times. Maybe you should say which dealer this which would then be helpful to other members?

Nope, so far £30 in taxis (be £40 by the time I pick it up), strangely a customer came in today (taxi driver) and said that they have a account with the dealer and they get a lot of work taking their customers home/work!!!

What do you reakon they say the screen is on backorder tomorrow?

I would be going nuts with the service manager and that’s why I said I hope there paying your taxi fare as it happens all the time
