Spare key programming
« on: 29 February 2020, 15:12 »
Hey!

I'm trying to get a new key programmed for my 2013 GTi as it only came with one, but the guy I'm using has not manged to get it working. He knows what he's doing and programs keys all the time but the cars putting up a fight and we just can't get it to work.

At first I was going to just get a key since it's a spare but apparently VW don't supply the chip for the keys so you can only have a remote for this model car. He's tried everything and it still doesn't seem to work.

The device he has to program the remote is a 'Zed-Full'

Has anyone managed to get a spare key working?. Did a search on here by doesn't seem to come up with much info for the MK7. VW charge something in the region of £260 for a spare key.

I've seen a couple of YouTube videos in German showing someone turning the key in the lock under the door handle cover while pressing the unlock button. Maybe something like this has to be done too?

Thanks for any help
