New GTI Navigation operating from the SD card

Good afternoon
I noticed that on my new 7.5 GTI a VW SD card was in slot 1, when I took it out to put my two music SD cards into slot 1 and 2 I lost my navigation.
Is this normal?
On my 7 series GTI the navigation was running from the hard drive.
Any advice grateful received.

Standard Nav runs from the SD card, NavPro has an internal hard drive for map data.
