Post #577 in the discussion thread at the link below mentions £12.5k for Clubsport bucket seats, so £12k-£12.5k looks to be the going rate. That’s eye-wateringly expensive
- it seems to be the way with VW if you need to replace factory fitted parts though;
- a single replacement Pretoria alloy costs around £800
- a forum member over on uk-polos.net enquired about replacing the trim inserts on the dash, centre console and around the front door handles, and they were quoted £1,500 to change a few pieces of plastic trim!

Yeah, that was me who mentioned the seat price. My neighbour who is also a car guy made a reference to nicking my seats and from my reaction, he realised that I wasn't aware and sent me the link to the forum where he'd seen the discussion.
With CAD design on modern cars, I swear they don't think about maintenance. The dash trim insert costs will be attributed to something silly like airbag removal and the need to remove the layers of dash that sit on top of the trim to release it.
One of my friends bought a Polo for his daughter when she passed her test last year. She accidentally filled the washer fluid with the wrong thing, I think it was anti freeze. Anyway, my mate rang me and asked if there was a release plug to drain and flush with as he couldn't see anything in the manual. I wasn't sure so he called the garage who told him it was an engine out job - the pipework snakes all around the motor and it's a sealed moulding. The dealer quoted him a ridiculous sum. I suggested he get a suction kit for his pressure washer and fit it to the washer fluid reservoir. He flushed it multiple times, worked without a problem. He bought me lunch!
