Alarms and the MkII boot
« on: 15 November 2003, 14:41 »
Anyone else had a problem with the alarm being triggered coz of the boot? Some kinda prob with the switch or air getting in?? Mine kept me up till 5am till I figured how to leave it on just immob (only just got alarm fitted). Not 100% sure its the boot coz I was too tired to get the led flashing code but from what I've heard it is quite common. Now I've gone and slammed boot shut hard so I might not get any false alarms for a while to prove it. If anyone has experienced it...any good fixes?

PS It's a toad ai606. And I wanna hear none of that "oh sh!t man u shouldn't have got that crap alarm"  :-\

Could be water that is getting on your trigger switch in the engine? (happend on my clifford)

Might not be the boot. I would probably move the car to a less busy area and test it there.

Open the boot then push the switch in so its held on its detent. then close boot and set alarm and see if it goes off.
