Rear suspension noise - New 7.5 Gti

Hi.
My new Gti has only done just over 1000 miles This weekend I gave it a first serious drive in the lake district via the north Pennines. Unfortunately we had to stop on three occasions due to serious noise from the rear. First time it sounded like something got caught underneath. Second was more of a nasty grinding noise and the third was a seriously noisy rattle. On all occasions it seemed to be coming from the drivers side. However when I stopped and checked everything seemed perfectly ok. The last 50 or so miles were trouble-free and today it seems fine. My question is does this sound like the rear suspension problem I've read about for the mark 7 (surely resolved in the 7.5?) or could there be some other reason? The fact that the noises were different each time is a real puzzle. I bet the dealer going to think I'm crazy....!

Could it have been stones caught in the brakes or stones caught on the suspension?

Can't be sure but seemed to occur at low speed after braking or taking a sharp bend. Stopping the car seemed to resolve the issue. The noise was so bad that one of my passengers actually asked to get let out of the car in the middle of nowhere - lol.
I will monitor the situation and contact the dealer should it happen again. I was just curious to know if the rear suspension noise some people reported on the Mk7 was still an issue.

The issue only really affected the lower models with the beam suspension not the multi link on the gtis etc. Have the dealership removed the the transport picks from the rear?

You could be onto something there. Will contact them for a quick check.
