Even parking it in the garage isn’t fool proof :). I walked past my car on the driveway one day and somehow I managed to flick up a stone up from the path into the car!! Of course it left a little chip. Grrrrr.

It’s very annoying but there’s a sense of inevitability about it.

As for putting plastic films etc on... I’d file those in the same bucket as mud flaps, seat covers, bonnet “bras”, alloygators, etc etc. Making your car a bit uglier in the vain hope of keeping it nicer for the next owner.

Quite clearly you don't. Your car travels at 70mph, the stone travels at 50mph therefore it's a 120mph impact. Come back when you actually understand what others are talking about! PPF in no way can defy the laws of physics no matter what you think or have been told. The only way to stop stone chips is to leave your car in parked in a garage.

Most people use PPF to protect from stone chips, how many stone chips do you see on cars that result in also having a dent on the panel? If a stone chip results in also having a dent then it won't help(maybe) having PPF

You are a bit of a special arent you. No point arguing because you are set in your ways. Call Topaz and argue the fact PPF is crap and question why people spend thousands covering the worlds most exclusive cars in it.

Not set in my ways just not stupid enough to believe a plastic film will stop my car getting stone chips. It may well limit low speed chips in a town but will never stop a high speed stone chip. And if you feel the need to make things personal then don't bother replying.
