So it seems there's more to complain about the MK7 than there is to praise, 16 replies in 11 days against 90 in 10 days on the whingeing thread....

I have had my fair share of problems with my car between car and dealer induced and I still love the car. Over the last few months the only problem I've had is the seat bolsters made of jelly but I'm hoping the next time I have it replaced(second time) will be the last as I'm going to get someone that specialises in it and have it reinforced some way.

How fast it got built and delivered. They said 22 weeks, it arrived in about 6.

What amazes me about it is that it's costing alot to have and run but I don't care because I love it :D

Is this an issue with GTD bolsters , I know of issues but generally due to usage rather than manufacture.
Yours are only 9 months old..?

According to the dealer it is so common that the have them in stock most of the time. It must be a Golf thing because I never had a problem with the seats in my CC in over 100,000 miles.

I liked it so much I couldn't bear to part with the GTD so gave it to my son, talked my wife into getting the GTI and moved myself to the R.
By far the best 3 cars I've ever had on the drive at the same time.

It does all the important stuff well. As from reading  the 'other' thread, most of the annoyances were niggles rather than major flaws.

My previous Ford Focus handled brilliantly, but that was its party piece. Aside from that, it had a dashboard that was seemingly made of egg boxes stuck together with blu tac, a turning circle like a Boeing 747, a stereo that sounded like a fly in a bottle and doors that closed like a biscuit tin lid.

No such issues with the VW. Everything (well nearly everything) is exactly as it should be.
