I know you're looking for a 1.5 but is a clipper (i.e. non GTI) an option too ? They are carbed 1.8s  :undecided:

for a 1.6 and a 1.8 there wanting bout £790 and £810 respectively... and for teh 1.5 they want 450 max... hmm... would love the 1.6i or 1.8, but it just aint guna happen, i have a 1.6 nw with the mk2!!! unless i can get one cheap so i have so much left for the insurance htta i cna keep in the bank, like £350 so i can carry on paying it monthly, and then i can afford to ins a 1.8/1.6i is that making any sense?

Yup, I think so.  So I know what I'm looking out for, what is your budget, so car and insurance etc so i know what to look for. I always look around for cabs to keep my eye on the prices.

Yeah, haven't been on here for a while, been on holiday and got a new job...... it's good to be back

I'm sure a 1.5 will turn up, I saw a yellow one at BVF a few years ago, looked fantastic  My first years insurance was £900 3rd party fire, it's now £425 fully comp, but that's with 4 years no claims now.
