Current Dealer Discounts on R

Hi All, does any fortunate member have recent experience of dealer discounts being achieved on R models? The misses has her heart set on an Golf 7.5 with keyless and Climate windscreen. The first offer we've had is 9.7% with a December/January delivery. Carwow suggests a little more is available at around 11%. We don't change cars very often so not very experienced when negotiating

Was the local dealer western VW?

Used car wow before and ended up buy a car from Ingrams in Ayr because local dealers wouldn't entertain matching the price.

I used CarWow to get an idea of discounted pricing and then visited two local dealers to match the best from a dealer who was 120 miles away. 

One did, the other didn't.  I was told this depends on whether they want to play the volume game (quarterly chassis rebate from VW) or work on lower sales at highers margins.

Since you're in Edinburgh, have you talked to Dean at GTi World out in Newbridge? I bought mine from him last year and got a good discount (with a PCP deal). They seem to be able to do better deals than most ordinary VW dealers and they are specialists within the Western VW franchise. Worth a try.
