I hope I don't come across as sounding like a proper flash Harry here, but I don't consider £30 to be an obscene amount of money for a devise that you can just plug in once and it does the job. Yes it is expensive for the sum of it's components, but for those of us without the wherewithal or the time, Kufatec have the solution.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Sorry if this question has been asked previously but could not find the answer on a search. Does the MOT check the stop/start as it is one of the reasons for lower emissions and could it lead to a fail?

Not sure but all you'd have to do is re-enable Stop Start for the MOT if needs be. When mine goes in for next service in Oct I'll be reversing the coding just for that, then deactivate it again.

Not sure if this relevant with the manuals but can't you just hover over the brake just enough to get it to hold rather than stopping the engine with a hard press?

The only way a manual goes into auto-stop is to knock it out of gear and have your foot off of the clutch.

For most people I suggest that this is something they rarely do in anything other than "stopped for a while" situations (eg red traffic light, railway crossing etc) and absolutely never at a roundabout or waiting to pull out of a junction!

Stop Start is not tested on the MOT so no need to change it.

The dealer will not code it for you as the tax bracket is based on Stop/Start technology due to the so called reduced emmisions. OP anyone local to you would change it as it takes less than 5 minutes.
