Steaming GTI intake from under bonnet

Hi all! Today ive noticed that my 2016 Golf GTI Performance tends to 'steam' from around the engine intake after switching off. Anyone else had this occur? Coolant and oil temps are good. Weather is extremely damp, cold (0-6 Celsius) and quite humid. Thoughts?!

Yes, I have noticed it on mine. No apparent leak. Assume its water evaporating off or something. Wired.

Great ok. I have only noticed it under extremely wet conditions, so will keep an eye on it.

Maybe from one of the many radiators. I have noticed it when I wash the car as there are that many fins for water to sit until it gets hot.

This use to happy on my wife's old Mini Cooper S, if you do a search for "dragon breath" and "Steam" its todo with condensation/water landing on the radiators which are hot.

Normally you will find this if you have been driving through heavy rain and/or driving your car after you have washed it especially if you have been using a hose pipe. On my old MK3 the bonnet used to steam as well when standing in a traffic queue.

On holiday near Callander in Scotland and , after driving on some very wet minor roads this morning ,my Gti steamed away happily ,for a few minutes ,once parked. Never noticed it before . Maybe something to do with weather and the car had been sat out in torrential rain for a day or so .
