Mk2 windscreens are still available at reasonable cost, having just had mine replaced on my 1991 8v Gti, due to growing stonechip.
Excellent service at National Windscreens, Bristol Depot.
Available screens (made by Pilkington) included standard clear, green tint with blue sunstrip and green tint with grey sunstrip.
My green tint with blue sunstrip screen has their product code 8533AGNBL, description GOLF GNBL, and cost £98.00 plus vat fully fitted.
Took them 22 minutes in total, and I was glad to see no significant rusting under windscreen rubber.
