Personally I am firmly in 3dr camp as I think VW have got the styling spot on with the Mk7. With previous generation 3drs (Mk 4,5 & 6) the rear side window have been too large in my opinion and looked minging. Also another reason for me picking the 3dr over a 5dr has already been mentioned. Sideways visibility is a real issue and would have really bugged me having to crane my neck all the time to avoid seeing the B pillar in my peripheral vision....Shame really as I think the Mk7 5dr looks superb too !!

Il 2nd that my choice for the 3 door was more for the styling looks as you say the 5 door does look nice but for me the 3 door outshines it not only that my family's grown up and I'd we take the grandkids out there's always the roc hahaha
