Golf GTD - When will it be delivered after being built?

Hi guys, I got my build week for my Golf GTD for the week commencing 13-06-16, which is next week. How long will it take for the GTD to arrive to my VW retailer? And how long will the car take to be registered as a 16 plate?

Time to get to the dealer is, typically, 3-4 weeks after being built. Your dealer will probably want you to pick a registration number, or he may just asign one to the car, after which he can do all of the registration process "in house", using the online facilities of the DVLA. That bit takes no time at all, so, once the car gets to the dealer, it just needs it's pre delivery inspection (PDI) and valeting. The quality of dealership valeting has been the subject of much discussion, on here, as it is not always as good as it should be. Not a good idea to rush them, as you'll just get a rushed PDI and a poor valeting job. You may even consider taking the car "in the wraps" as I, and a number of folk on here, did, just so that you can make sure the cars initial clean and wax does it justice.

I think mine was delivered approx 5-6 weeks after build... and about a month later than was expected... so, overall, close to 6 months from order but I've had it 2.5 years now...

Our car was 3 weeks after build week when we picked up.
Someone on here was 10 or 12 days. I only remember as they were the same build week as me and they flew through the process.
The car itself is built within 3 days and then its just your luck when it makes the train to Emden, then makes the boat to the Port and then is picked up by transporter to your dealer.

It does vary - and depends on whether you were day 1 of the build week or day 7. My Match edition was a BW22 car (last week) and arrived at UK port on Tuesday morning! will be with the dealer mid next week and I collect on 20 June.

my new GTD which I've now had for 3 weeks took exactly 18 days from leaving the factory to arriving at the dealership.

From all I have read on line it looks as though 3-4 weeks is the norm from build to collection, fingers crossed its as quick as possible.

My R build week is next week too.  Am hoping they are still running a week ahead at the factory.  My friends new golf was due to be built this week, but actually left the factory on Monday

My build week is 30, dealer is saying about 3 weeks after that before I get it, can't wait!!
