I think Running Man is getting a bit excited about his new car

My dealer didn't offer a 30 day or 90 day inspection, the salesman was quite proud of saying that I didn't need to return for 2 years or 20k miles. I ignored this and went in at 10k.

Answer is, no, it's not standard. If my dealer tried that, I'd say leave me be, I'll come to you when I think something is wrong. Unless you like visiting your dealer for nothing at all. You're not a fit, blonde physio are you? Perhaps they like you visiting them for nothing!

May be it is more a case of prevention rather than cure if something goes wrong.  It is a bit soon after picking the car up.  But I guess the condition of the car in the first few hundred miles as you run it in will affect the remaining life of the car. I think my dealer has done something similar.  I can remember going in a lot more in my first year with nothing actually wrong just because they offered to check it over.  I even made a day of it as it is in the city we go to go shopping and go out for a meal in anyway.

Our dealer asked us to bring the car back for a free 30 day check up.
They said it was to see if there were any updates and funnily enough as my Mrs was taking the car to the dealer on that day, the head unit stopped working and she couldn't hear me via bluetooth.
When she mentioned it to them, it was as if by magic there was an update waiting to be installed.
So it was useful for us.

Make sure that you clean the car before you bring it in and go around every inch of it with the person your are handing the car over to so that they can see the car is unmarked.

Good luck with that!

I never hand over a car to a dealer unless its 100% necessary. If you do choose to do it then get a full walk around inspection done (recorded on paper by the dealer), photograph the mileage on your phone and leave 'Do not wash me' notices in the side windows on each side of the car.
