Hi all, just a quick question to the techies out there.
On my 2013 GTD, it came fitted with MDI socket rather than USB. It was a little bit of a pain as it meant having proprietary special MDI leads for each device type. One of the benefits however is that the Apple (30 pin connector) cable for my Ipod touch had some sort of hardware DRM verification in it as all my ITunes purchased music videos, Movies and TV shows all played no issue.
Fast forward to 2016 and my new GTD which now has a USB socket and it will only play music files. When I try to play a video file I just get sound only, with a thumbnail image of the movie playing ?
I've also tried converting the files to MP4 and putting them on the storage card of my Galaxy S5 and that says "no media files found" ? Has the DRM function been removed from the new 2016 Golfs and is there any way to get the files to play as before, or do I have to re-rip them and put them on an SD card and off the iPod touch now ?
Secondly, when playing a file from my SD card (as a test), whilst it plays OK, the image is quite dark. On my previous Nav Pro I seemed to remember having the option to adjust brightness, colour and contrast, but I can't find anything anywhere on the newer unit ? Any ideas?
