Not really. But the bottom end with mk2 head is better.Mk2 head flows better than the 3. Hence the bhp figures of the 8v not being much different
it may not rev much over 5k rpm, but it gets there quicker . if you only change the bottom end you will get the same bhp figure but it will be lower in the rev range. which is why the cam upgrade is needed to help the larger capacity engine breathe at higher revs.
