Leaking door seal

So the weather is atrocious atm, endless rain. Driving back from site today a few drops of water leaked through my door seal and dripped on my hand while at driving  :sad: Anyome else had 5his problem?

Could it be water that had got on the door frame on the interior side of the seal when you were getting in? I'd double check, get someone to spray the car while you are in it and see then.

I had this a little bit in my GTI, it was a very small drip though and I never bothered getting it checked out as I was trading it in soon after anyway. Maybe try some rubber dressing on the seals...

I think this is most likely.  Good way to find out would be to go through a car wash.

If it is a leaky seal (and not just some water carried in by other means) - by far the best thing for this type of problem is Krytox Liquid (DuPont GPL 105) which was first brought in to resolve the leaking seals issues on the roof of the VW EOS.  I've used it, not for leaks, but on creaking door seals/rubbers/felts and it's a genius product.

You can order it from your local TPS (Trade Parts Specialists).  It's pricy for a 30ml bottle (roughly £28 plus VAT) but a little goes a very long way so it lasts and lasts. Part number for the VW Krytox is G052172A1
