Does anyone know if it's possible to swap the MDI socket in the forward cubby hole on my 2013 GTD (with the Discover Pro Nav and Dynaudio - if it make's a difference), to the USB + AUX socket.
I've twice had faulty MDI cables in the 2 years I've had the car and I think it's the stress that being put on them bending back so severely to plug into my Ipod touch or Iphone.
I need the socket to have functionality to run either the Apple cables for the 30 pin Apple unit (Ipod Touch, Iphone 4) or an Apple lightening connector (Iphone 6), as well as standard USB for the wife's Android phone. Currently the green cable for my 30 pin version allows all album artwork to show and movies (and music video's) on the units to play, whereas my other Lightening MDI cable for my Iphone 6, allows album art but not sorted video's to play.
I'd ideally want at least that functionality back and so I can plug any device in via the USB socket. I think the cable harness back to the infotainment unit in the glove box would probably need to be changed as well and that's OK.
If anyone's done this any chance of some part numbers please ?
