Sounds like cavitation, possibly your steering rack or pipes is leaking air into the system, or a simple air lock somewhere.
Unlikely, but seen it happen before, just double check that a clamp has not accidentally been left on a flexible pipe somewhere! :lipsrsealed:

I can't seem to find any leaks anywhere and I've done the usual bleeding practice. The belt has a good tension with about 5-10 mm of moment when you press on it. Think i'm gonna send back the after market pump and fit a refurbed genuine.

Take the PAS belt off and run the engine tell me the noise is gone or still there?

Have already tried this and there's no noise with the belt off.

Fitted a reconditioned genuine pump and all is good now. Never buy a Meyle pump. No longer German quality but cheap Chinese rubbish.
