Orange gear linkage bush replacement

Hi guys I am rebuilding the gear linkage and have just replaced the big orange bush in the engine bay however I am not sure I have got it in all the way, I can't find any pictures so can anyone confirm that this is in correctly?

The answer is NO.

The bush should be further in so only a small bit protrudes equally on either side, the bush should also be fairly loose inside the housing. I drilled out the rivets and put the bush in properly:
