My son recently had a service done at local garage. He was also booked in to replace cambelt etc. on the way he suffered engine failure. Called AA, couldn't find fault suspected petrol pump. At garage they diagnosed petrol pump,and replaced it,also Helicoil special?.Also found retaining bolt stripped from cylinder head. Rectified it .he collected car ,after a mile he had complete failure again. Is very unhappy has spent a grand so far! Any body have any thoughts? Car has done 72k miles,previous owner had full vw service history. Son bought the car this year. Garage has requested it be left with them.
