Replacing faulty parking sensor?
« on: 26 May 2015, 10:03 »
I have a 2006 Mk5 Golf GTI, with factory-fitted rear parking sensors.

One of the sensors appears to have gone faulty. Is this a job I can tackle and, if so, does anyone have any instructions for how to do it?

(Google search did not throw up anything useful!)

I think it'd be a case of un-clipping any wiring connections from the back of the sensor and swapping it for a replacement one. I've never tried the job myself but it should be fairly obvious if you get the car raised up and have a good old look first.

If you work it out, maybe write up a little how-to for other who may need this advice as I'm sure failing parking sensors will become more common over the years.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!
