Vibration
« on: 22 April 2015, 18:11 »
Last weekend I fitted a new wishbone with powerflex bushes in it to the n/s/f planning on doing the o/s/f this weekend but on test drive I have a vibration at hard acceleration it vibrates through the the front end of the car and the steering wheel but at crusing speed 70mph not vibration in 1st gear all the way to 2500rpm vibration?

I have had a look and can't find anything out of place. My tyres need balancing as the wobble at 70mph did this before the fitting of the new bushes. and the n/s/f tyre is worn on the inner ended due to worn bushes.

Has anyone else who has fitted powerflex bushes had this problem

nope. I would check the driveshaft/cv joints in case something detached and didn't go back in to place right. is the anti roll bar link re-connected/ anti roll bar touching wishbone?

tracking wouldn't cause the vibration through the whole of the car would it

if its miles out it will, especially if the other side is worn out...
I wouldn't drive it at 70 mph until you find out what you have got wrong, i'd get it all off and start again as well as doing the other side. check the CV's like roberto said when you do it.
Then get it tracked.

well i now have done the o/s/f and both track rod ends and the tracking cant be far out as it drives straight.planning on doing the tracking and front tyres monday.

since doing the o/s/f there has been no difference

also found the o/s/f wheel bearing to be noisy could this be the problem?

How close does the antiroll bar be to the wishbone ?
