Retrofitting LHD power folding mirror to RHD car
« on: 27 March 2015, 13:16 »

I have some LHD folding mirrors from a LHD 2011 Golf with controllers 5K0959793 & 5K0959792 and have completely overlooked whether I will need to do anything to install into a RHD Mk6 Golf. Searching the internet seems to suggest that apart from coding it is pretty much plug and play. With that said I have also found a couple of posts on other forums were they stated two wires need to be swapped round but I can not for the life of me find the posts!

Has anyone tried this before?

Is there not a difference in the angles that the glass sits in LHD/RHD mirrors?

Obviously they can be adjusted, but on RHD cars the range of adjustment would need to suit our drivers seats range of fore and aft adjustments, whereas LHD mirrors would suit our passengers seating position.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Agree. The angle is slightly different but should not impede the driver as they can be adjusted. I was hoping to fit them today but in true style of British weather, with the start of BST. its raining

Is this onto a car without it fitted as standard or are you just replacing ? If so could you point me in the direction to any guides your using. Id love this on my 35 :)

Hiya. The car rolled off the production line without power folding mirrors so i wanted to retrofit them. I didn't use a guide but there are a couple online - i'll try and find one.
