Two horns?!!!
« on: 18 March 2015, 23:04 »
Recently bought car. Newly MOT,d by main dealer. Just noticed that a sheet was attached to MO T advising "x1 horn inop". Being concerned(I'm no mechanic),I PHONED DEALERSHIP FOR EXPLANATION AS I THOUGHT THIS MEANT FAILURE. But was advised their were two horns so no problem issuing MO T. You learn summat every day.

There are two horns I believe, one for the main horn that the driver will use, the other is for the alarm. It's a common fault for the alarm one to fail and through up error codes or be picked up.

Get a fault scan, work out which is the faulty one and swap it over. If your alarm horn has failed, I'd get it done ASAP as it's quite a handy security feature.
