Help!!!! Should i get rid of my old MK1 Cab?
« on: 27 September 2005, 21:37 »
Having just bought my beautiful new rivage cabriolet, my poor little bronze mk1 cabby is sitting in my driveway looking very sorry for herself.  i have had her for 9 years and she has clocked up nearly 160,000 miles.  The engine is still going great guns but everything else is deteriorating.  I cant really afford to keep her and the rivage but i am loathed to let her go.  Any suggestions?

If you don't want to run both how about selling it to a similarly-minded VW  enthusiast as a project car?

You might get piece of mind knowing that it will be well looked after and not driven into the ground and they get a cheap introduction into the Mk1 Golf world.

I'm not sure how you measure how enthusiastic and genuine potential buyers are though.

Thanks guys

yeah i know i love the bronze ones - so eighties and so classic!  they look so good when properly looked after.  Problem is the rivage has become my project car with so much still to do on her and so much money to be spent!!!  Family are already having a nervous breakdown about the rusting heap still on the driveway - ( i closed my ears and walked away after that insult!)  will try and find some photos of her - will probably be older ones of her in her glory days though!

u can't store it somewhere until you get the new car completed..? the only other option is to sell her to a VW person who will make it there project car...
