i am thinking of getting AP coilovers for my golf what are peoples thoughts on these?

Depends what you want and what you use the car for. If all you want is the looks, and don't use the car much then any coilovers will do. However general rule with coilovers is if you spend cheap, the ride will feel cheap.

i use the car daily i am going for style over performance and don't want to spend over £500

Ap's are a good budget coilover. You will be fine with them. For a good performance coilover your looking at £800 +. If your not tracking Ap's are good enough.  Loads of reviews on Google. I run them and they are fine. However,  will be looking to upgrade in the future for something like KW V2'S or equivalent.


Coilovers provide better car handling. A lot of car enthusiasts speak of improved handling when they installed coilovers compared to their stock suspension systems. Coilover suspensions also offer superb adjustability and drivers love this particular feature. This aspect is amazing for drivers who desire a low ride. End of the day it boils down to what you want and how much money your willing to spend

As far as value for money goes you can't go wrong with AP's. Don't rust, the spring coating is excellent quality and the grub screw adjustment set up is never likely to seize.
