New to the forum and potentially buying a Mk 7. I have not owned a VW since a Mk1 (AUM 880X) more years ago than I care to remember. Currently driving a 10yo 330 convertible which I have enjoyed for the past 7 years, but now need something more practical, without sacrificing performance. At the moment it looks like GTI with PP, extras probably include DCC, metallic paint, Disco Nav ( not pro) winter pack & sunroof. Maybe high beam assist & rear view camera, definitely not leather as the tartan seats are a nostalgia trip! Staying clear of DSG as I anticipate keeping it for at least 6 years like my current car. As an enthusiastic petrol head living in a rural part of North Yorkshire, do those choices seem ok? And yes, I was sorely tempted by an M135i or R, the latter being over budget but.....
